Kurt “Kuddel” Ubben (18 November 1911 – 27 April 1944) was a German Luftwaffe wing commander during World War II, a fighter ace with 110 aerial victories claimed in about 500 combat missions.
Born in Dorstadt, Ubben joined the Reichsmarine in 1931 and then transferred to the Luftwaffe in 1935. Following flight training, he was posted to Jagdgruppe 186 and later to Jagdgeschwader 77. He claimed his first victory during the Battle of France on 10 May 1940 and then fought in the Battle of Greece, Operation Barbarossa, North Africa and finally the defense of the Reich.
He was killed in action with the US Army Air Forces 356th Fighter Group near Fère-en-Tardenois, France on 27 April 1944.
