Emund ‘Ed’ Pierce (22nd October 1896 – April 1985). Born in York, North Yorkshire, England. He was posted to No.3 (Naval) and No. 9 (Naval) Squadrons during the first world war. During his first posting to No. 3N Squadron he claimed 5 kills in this aircraft. He was then posted to No. 9N Squadron where he claimed a further 2, then returned to No. 3N Squadron and scored his final 2 victories.
