Pilot Captain Stuart Harvey Pratt
No. 46 Squadron, June – July 1917
Stuart Harvey Pratt was born on 23rd June 1893 in London. After studying at the University of London and working as an articled clerk, he joined the 6th Battalion The Royal Fusiliers when war broke out. After being wounded in action he was transferred to the Royal Flying Corps in June 1916. He got his wings on the 27th August 1916 and was posted to No.46 Squadron. While initally flying Nieuports, he scored two kills and then a further five after the squadron was supplied with Sopwith Pups.
Pratt lost his right eye and left foot in a crash on 31th August 1917 at Herne Bay. He was invalided out of service due to ill health in December 1918.
