Pilot Lieutenant Algernon Bird
No. 46 Squadron, Aug – Sept 1917
Algernon Frederick Bird, (13th May 1896 – 24th August 1957) born in Kings Lynn Norfolk England. He became the 61st victim of the Red Baron on the 3rd September 1917. Lt Bird survived and became a POW, held in Holzminden prisoner of war camp. He was repatriated on the 14th December 1918 and returned to Norfolk to work in the family business.
